An important source of sulphur for the body

Our body needs sulphur in the form of the amino acids methionine and cysteine. L-methionine is an essential amino acid that cannot be produced by the body itself. It must be supplied with food. The pH value of urine is subject to natural fluctuations and depends on the diet. Like cysteine, methionine contains organically bound sulphur, which lowers the pH value of the urine when it is metabolised.
