Practical use in powder form
The amino acid L-glutamine is found in high concentrations in the muscles and performs numerous functions: amongst other things, it is involved in the synthesis of body proteins and is used as an energy source by certain body cells, such as muscle cells and cells of the intestinal mucosa. If the energy requirements of the body’s cells increase, more glutamine is also needed. Although our body can produce L-glutamine itself from glutamic acid in skeletal muscle, a supplementary intake may be advisable during periods of increased demand, such as during intense muscular exertion.
L-glutamine powder is simply stirred into water or fruit juice and also allows for individual dosing. As such, its use has proven particularly effective in practice for both amateur and competitive athletes.
