Omega-3 fatty acids for active health

Why are omega-3 fatty acids so important - or, as the name suggests, "essential"? The fatty acids EPA and DHA, which are mainly found in fish oil, not only have properties that are important for the heart, but also help to maintain normal blood pressure2) and are important for brain function. Particular attention should be paid to this during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as DHA plays an important role in the development of the brain and eyes in the foetus.

As EPA and DHA are found almost exclusively in fish and cannot be produced by the human body itself, fish is therefore one of the building blocks of a healthy and varied diet. It should be included in the diet at least twice a week - especially in the form of fatty sea fish such as salmon or mackerel. This is the recommendation to cover the need for important omega-3 fatty acids. However, very few people actually put this good advice into practice. Be it the fact that high-quality fish - unless you live near the coast - is not always easy to get and is not exactly cheap. Or the simple truth that not everyone likes the flavour.

EPA/DHA liquid provides the omega-3 fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) in an easily dosed, liquid form. Highly dosed and subtle in flavour, the product is suitable for all those who do not get enough fish on their plate and therefore want to take dietary supplements.

Directions
  • Adults: 1 teaspoon of 5 ml per day with or between meals.
  • Recommended intake for children from the age of 4: ½ teaspoon of 2.5 ml per day on its own or added to a meal.
  • Advice: Once opened, store in the refrigerator (2-8°C) and consume within 90 days. The contents may appear cloudy due to refrigeration.
