Microbiological effectiveness

octenisan® wash lotion has proven efficacy: In practical tests on skin artificially contaminated with S. epidermidis - recommended contact time: 1 min. (2013) describe a repeated 5-day cycle for the application of octenisan® wash lotion in intensive care units and were able to show a 76% reduction in MRSA prevalence. Hübner et al. (2009) published a combined application with a nasal ointment containing octenidine, carried out at Greifswald University Hospital, Germany. The study was conducted in 3 cycles and showed a successful sanitation of MRSA carriers by up to 68% after the first cycle and 98% after the 3rd cycle.

Application

For patient washing, apply undiluted octenisan® Wash Lotion to a damp flannel and rub onto the relevant parts of the body for approx. 1 minute and rinse off. octenisan® Wash Lotion should be used in the same way as standard products when showering or washing hair.

Ingredients

Aqua, Cocamidopropylamine Oxide, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Lactic Acid, Octenidine HCl, Allantoin. octenisan® Wash Lotion has very good moisturising properties thanks to the balanced composition of the various ingredients including octenidine and allantoin.
