nasic® nasal spray for children 5 mg/500 mg, 10 ml

nasic – nasal spray for children is used to reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa in cases of a cold and as an adjunctive treatment to aid the healing of skin and mucosal lesions, paroxysmal rhinorrhoea (vasomotor rhinitis) and to treat nasal breathing difficulties following surgical procedures on the nose.

Active ingredients

• Xylometazoline has vasoconstrictive properties and thereby reduces mucosal oedema.
• Dexpanthenol is a derivative of the vitamin pantothenic acid, which is characterised by its wound-healing and mucosal-protective properties.

nasic – Nasal Spray for Children is intended for adults and children aged 2 years and over. Use in children aged 2 to 6 years is by medical prescription only. If you do not feel any better, or if your symptoms worsen, after 7 days, consult your doctor.

Directions for use

• Children aged 2 to 6 years: Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, children aged 2 to 6 years should use one spray of nasic® Nasal Spray for Children up to 3 times a day as required; hold the bottle upright and administer one spray into each nostril; breathe in gently through the nose whilst spraying. The dosage depends on the child’s individual sensitivity and the effect of the treatment.
• Use in children aged 2 to 6 years is strictly on medical prescription only.
• Children aged 6 to 14 years: For children aged 6 to 14 years, administer one to two sprays of nasic – nasal spray for children into each nostril up to three times a day as required. For children up to 14 years of age, use must be supervised by a parent or adult.
• Duration of use: Do not use nasic – Nasal Spray for Children for longer than 7 days without consulting a doctor or dentist. You should always consult a doctor regarding the duration of use in children. Prolonged use of nasic – Nasal Spray for Children can lead to chronic swelling and, ultimately, atrophy of the nasal mucosa.

Method of use: Nasal use.

1. Remove the protective cap from the spray head.
2. Before first use, pump several times until a uniform spray is released. For all subsequent uses, the spray is ready for immediate use.
3. Insert the spray nozzle as vertically as possible into the nostrils and pump once in each nostril. After use, wipe the spray nozzle clean for hygiene reasons and replace the protective cap.

Ingredients

• The active ingredients are: xylometazoline hydrochloride and dexpanthenol. 10 g of solution contain 5 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride and 500 mg of dexpanthenol. One spray of 0.1 ml solution (equivalent to 0.10 g) contains 0.05 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride and 5.0 mg dexpanthenol.
• The other ingredients are: 0.02 mg benzalkonium chloride per spray, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, purified water.
