monamed® contains standardised red yeast rice (Monascus purpureus) with a high content of monacolin K. The plant-based nutrient monacolin K contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. The positive effect on cholesterol levels is achieved with a daily intake of 10 mg monacolin K. Vitamins B6 and B12 as well as folic acid are involved in the breakdown of the metabolic product homocysteine and thus ensure a normal homocysteine metabolism.

High cholesterol levels are very common in today's society. Cholesterol is a fat-like substance that is produced by the body and also absorbed through food. A poor diet, lack of exercise, smoking and genetic factors can have an unfavourable effect on cholesterol levels.

Today's eating habits include a large number of products that contain high levels of saturated fatty acids. This ingested fat places a great burden on the organism and drives up cholesterol levels (especially LDL and triglyceride levels).

Active ingredients

• Red yeast rice offers a plant-based alternative for maintaining healthy cholesterol levels. Clinical studies have confirmed that the daily intake of 10 mg of monacolin K from red yeast rice contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels.
• Homocysteine is formed naturally in the human metabolism and is normally broken down again quickly. Low levels of vitamin B6, folic acid and vitamin B12 lead to an increased concentration of the metabolic product homocysteine in the blood. Taking a selected combination of vitamin B6, folic acid and vitamin B12 supports the breakdown and ensures healthy homocysteine levels.
