Ovulation is the release of an egg from the ovary. The egg reaches the fallopian tube, where it can be fertilised. In order to become pregnant, the egg must be fertilised by sperm within 24 hours of ovulation. Shortly before ovulation, the body produces a large amount of luteinising hormone (LH), which triggers the release of the maturing egg from the ovaries. This LH surge usually occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle.1
The mö-screen LH ovulation test helps to determine ovulation and fertile days. It is during these fertile days that you are most likely to become pregnant. The mö-screen LH ovulation test recognises the LH increase in the urine. It signals that ovulation will occur within the next 24 - 36 hours. The test uses a combination of antibodies containing a monoclonal LH antibody to selectively detect elevated LH levels.
IMPORTANT: Ovulation and increased LH levels do not occur in every menstrual cycle.
