The nose is often the first target of viral attacks. Cold viruses reach the mucous membranes in the nasal cavity via the air we breathe in. The invaders immediately begin to penetrate the mucous membrane cells in order to multiply there.

A healthy mucous membrane knows how to defend itself against such attacks. By producing mucus and through sneezing, it tries to get rid of the intruders.

However, once the viruses have attached themselves to the cells of the mucous membrane, it is too late for preventative measures. The viral inflammatory reaction causes the nasal mucous membrane to swell, making it difficult to breathe freely. The drainage of mucus no longer works as it should. The mucus becomes increasingly thick and now provides a ideal breeding ground for bacteria. In this situation, good ventilation is essential.

The active ingredient xylometazoline in hysan® Nasal Spray (for adults and schoolchildren) ensures rapid and reliable decongestion of the nasal mucosa. Within just a few minutes, you can breathe freely again. This creates space for the thick mucus to drain away. This helps prevent bacterial infections and can often avoid the need for antibiotic treatment.

Directions for use

hysan® nasal spray is intended for nasal use. 1. Remove the cap before each use. 2. Press the pump until the solution is dispensed (usually 1–2 times). The system is then ready for further use. 3. Insert the spray nozzle into the nostril and press the pump once, whilst inhaling gently. Spray once into each nostril up to 3 times a day, as required. For hygiene reasons, please wipe the nasal adapter after each use and replace the protective cap. If required, administer one spray into each nostril 2 to 3 times a day. Do not use more than 3 times a day. Duration of use: The duration of use should not exceed 5–7 days. Further use should only take place after a break of several days. For children aged 6 years and over, a doctor should always be consulted regarding the duration of use; hysan® nasal spray must not be used in children under 6 years of age.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is: xylometazoline hydrochloride 1 ml contains 1 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride. A 0.14 ml spray contains 0.14 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride The other ingredients are: sodium edetate; sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate; sodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate; sorbitol; purified water Note: hysan® nasal spray contains no preservatives
