Product advantages of gigasept® PAA concentrate base and additive
- Liquid concentrate - effective immediately after preparation
- Excellent material compatibility, even with sensitive materials
- Effective against mycobacteria, yeasts, viruses, spores (incl. clostridia)
- short contact time
- pH-neutral
- Areas of application
For manual disinfection of endoscopes and selected medical devices and accessories. gigasept® PAA concentrate is buffered to a neutral pH value by the addition of special additives to ensure optimum material compatibility.
Product properties
The liquid 2-component system results in the following advantages for the use of gigasept® PAA concentrate:
- safe storage stability
- very easy handling without dosing aids
- high dosing reliability
- Immediate and comprehensive effectiveness, as no activation is required
- the working solution is clear immediately after preparation
- excellent material compatibility thanks to targeted pH value adjustment and additional addition of corrosion protection
- Extensive effectiveness
Special instructions
Always read the label and product information before use. gigasept® PAA concentrate component A contains an active, stabilised equilibrium peracetic acid. In addition to alkali, component B provides phosphates and other corrosion protection components to adjust the pH value. When the working solution is prepared by dilution with water and simultaneous mixing of the two components, an almost neutral, buffered working solution with a pH value of approx. 6 is produced.

Directions for use
Instructions for use: To prepare the desired working solution, first add the required amount of water. Then empty the double bottle (components A and B at the same time) completely into the water. Ensure that the concentrates of the components do not come into contact with each other. For every 5 litres of water, the entire contents of a double bottle must be dosed in order to obtain a 2 % working solution (calculated on component A). One double bottle dosed per 10 litres of water results in a 1 % working solution (a corresponding dosing table can be found at www.schuelke.com.). Place endoscopes and instruments to be reprocessed in the working solution immediately after use. Ensure that the previously cleaned surfaces are completely wetted. Insert hollow bodies in such a way that air escapes completely from the lumen. After reprocessing, rinse/rinse the instruments thoroughly with water of at least drinking water quality, preferably with fully demineralised water, to completely remove any residues of the disinfectant solution. Please follow the instrument manufacturer's reprocessing recommendations. Do not mix with detergents or other disinfectants. Components A and B must always be used together! Standing time: The standing time of the uncontaminated working solution is max. 12 hours. If contamination is clearly visible, the working solution must be replaced prematurely. Interactions: No interactions with cleaners and disinfectants used in automated endoscope reprocessing (e.g. glutaraldehyde and peracetic acid-based) are to be expected if small amounts of the working solution are carried over from the pre-cleaning. Material compatibility: Thanks to a coordinated 2-component formulation, it has been possible to guarantee a very comprehensive spectrum of activity with exceptionally good and practical material compatibility. Do not exceed the recommended concentration and contact time. Not suitable for brass and copper instruments or for mechanically pre-damaged chrome or nickel-plated instruments. Sporicidal efficacy: In addition to the test in accordance with EN 14347, a practical germ carrier test was carried out in accordance with the DGHM standard methods, which confirmed the efficacy against the test germ Clostridium difficile (2 % - 5 min.) under high load.
