Enzymed® gastrointestinal capsules are a dietary supplement with enzymes and plant extracts to support food intolerances and allergies and to generally improve (protein) digestion.

enzymed® gastrointestinal is a high-quality dietary supplement with betaine HCL, pepsin, ginger and protease and was specially developed to support food intolerances and allergies and to generally improve digestion by supporting the composition of gastric juices. It facilitates fat metabolism, ensures an optimum start to protein digestion and can be taken for general gastrointestinal complaints such as flatulence, bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, intestinal irritation and reduced absorption of vitamins and trace elements. Ginger root extract also strengthens and protects the gastric mucosa and promotes the production of gastric juice.

An inadequate enzyme balance can significantly impair normal bodily functions. If digestive enzymes are not sufficiently present, this can lead to imbalances with symptoms such as flatulence, abdominal pain, diarrhoea or constipation. Insufficient digestion of nutrients can also lead to deficiency symptoms, even if the food intake is sufficiently high. A weakened immune system due to an imbalance of immune-supporting enzymes can increase susceptibility to infection and impair the body's ability to fight off disease. Inflammation that is not adequately controlled can cause chronic inflammatory conditions in the body that have been linked to various diseases such as arthritis, cardiovascular disease and even cancer.

• Betaine HCL is an exogenous source of gastric juice (hydrochloric acid) and lowers the pH of stomach acid to 1 to 3, making protein chains soluble and allowing the proteolytic enzyme pepsin to do its job (shortening protein chains). Hydrochloric acid serves as the primary prevention of intestinal dysbiosis, food poisoning and (traveller's) diarrhoea. Most pathogenic microorganisms die within 15 minutes in a highly acidic environment.
• Pepsin is an important enzyme in the human organism for protein digestion in the stomach. It breaks down large protein molecules into smaller ones. Pepsin is a special protease (aspartate protease) and a natural source of protein-splitting gastric enzymes.
• Ginger supports digestion and contributes to the normal function of the digestive tract. Ginger root extract is rich in gingerol, which has a very good anti-inflammatory effect.
• Protease breaks down complex, long-chain proteins into short-chain, easily digestible proteins. Protease supports protein digestion in the first part of the small intestine, providing an immediate feeling of relief. Protease is a natural source of proteolytic pancreatic enzymes.

• take 1 capsule unchewed with sufficient liquid during each meal. If the feeling of heaviness persists one hour after the meal, another capsule can be taken.
• Prevention (traveller's diarrhoea): 1 capsule with each protein-rich meal.
• Advice: Suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Not suitable for children under 6 years of age. Do not combine with antacids. Do not use in case of stomach ulcers, stomach bleeding or after stomach surgery.
