colomed® Diarrhoea Capsule is suitable for the dietary management of diarrhoea, especially antibiotic-associated diarrhoea (AAD), infectious diarrhoea (gastrointestinal infections) and traveller's diarrhoea.

High-quality bacterial strains in colomed® diarrhoea capsules:

The bacterial strains used are protected from external environmental influences by a so-called "dual-coating" process. High temperatures, moisture, interactions with other nutrients and, above all, the production of gastric and bile acids in the digestive tract are parameters that often lead to inactivation of the bacterial strains. The special manufacturing process of colomed® diarrhoea capsules protects the bacterial strains from these environmental influences and guarantees a high availability of living microorganisms in the intestine.

Properties

colomed® diarrhoea capsules contain 4 active and reproducible bacterial strains for the compensation of microbial imbalance in diarrhoeal diseases. The prebiotic in the form of resistant dextrin (Nutriose®) serves as a food source for lactobacilli and bifidobacteria in the intestine.

One capsule of colomed® diarrhoea capsules contains 4 billion bacteria capable of reproduction:

• Lactobacillus casei
• Lactobacillus rhamnosus
• Enterococcus faecium
• Bifidobacterium bifidum

The balance of the intestinal microbiota (= totality of microorganisms in the intestine) can be upset by infections, antibiotic therapy and other factors. Restoring the microbial balance with the help of bacterial strains that occur naturally in the intestine shows positive effects in the diet management of patients with diarrhoea. The prebiotic Nutriose® is used to support the colonisation of bacterial strains. The special processing into the dietary fibre Nutriose® ensures resistance to the digestive enzymes and is therefore fully available to the bifidobacteria and lactobacilli as a food source.

Directions

• Take 1 capsule 1-2 times a day with sufficient liquid.
• Tips: colomed® diarrhoea capsules can be taken in parallel with antibiotic therapy. Please allow a time interval of 2 hours between taking the antibiotic and the colomed® capsules. It is recommended to continue taking colomed® diarrhoea capsules for a few days after the end of the antibiotic therapy. For children or those who have difficulty swallowing, it is possible to open the capsules and stir the contents into yoghurt, for example.
