The most common cause of digestive problems in guinea pigs and rabbits is incorrect feeding. In particular, a lack of crude fibre leads to insufficient tooth wear and dysbiosis, which can result in diarrhoea, constipation and bloating. Furthermore, wild herbs, which naturally stimulate digestion, are rarely included in their diet.

RodiCare® basic is a pellet feed specially formulated for guinea pigs and rabbits. Its high crude fibre content promotes digestive function and provides the nutritional basis for essential gut flora.

RodiCare® basic contains all essential vitamins and minerals. With its high vitamin C content, it ensures an adequate supply even for guinea pigs that are temporarily not receiving fresh food. In addition,

RodiCare® basic supplements the diet – which is usually low in herbs – with a specially formulated herbal blend that aids digestion and stimulates the appetite.

A very high crude fibre content is essential for maintaining the gut flora and promotes intestinal peristalsis.
Rapidly available energy ensures that the delicate energy metabolism in the liver is maintained.
Vitamins and minerals prevent deficiencies caused by diet or illness.
Fenugreek seeds, calamus root and turmeric stimulate the appetite and aid digestion.
Chamomile flowers, peppermint, fennel and caraway seeds, as well as liquorice, supplement the diet with valuable phytochemicals.

Usage

Feeding recommendation:

Guinea pigs: Adult animals should be given approx. 30 g per day (1½ measuring spoons).
Dwarf rabbits: Adult animals should be given approx. 50 g per day (2 1/2 measuring spoons).

The required feeding amount may vary depending on the species, weight, age and condition of the animal. The exact amount should be determined based on observation or in consultation with a vet.

Recommended feeding duration: At least 20–30 days. RodiCare® basic can also be used on a long-term basis as a supplement to high-quality hay and fresh food.

Notes: Fresh water and high-quality hay should always be provided ad libitum. Avoid any sudden changes to the diet! Any additional fresh feed should be as texturally varied as possible and initially only given in very small quantities, which should be gradually increased.
