alfavet EffyLyt effervescent tablets are the ideal feed supplement for quickly providing suckling calves and piglets with essential electrolytes such as sodium and potassium, as well as readily available energy from lactose. These palatable, fast-dissolving tablets support young animals in the first few days of life and promote hydration and vitality.

Fast-dissolving effervescent tablets for preparing a palatable and energy-rich electrolyte solution

• Sodium bicarbonate, with its buffering properties, sodium chloride and potassium chloride are rapidly available electrolytes. 
• Citric acid, an important component of metabolism (the citric acid cycle), and water help to balance an individual’s increased nutritional requirements in the event of fluid loss (e.g. sweating, diarrhoea, etc.). 
• Lactose provides rapidly available energy.

Newborn calves and piglets are very vulnerable in the first few days of life and have hardly any reserves to compensate for fluid loss on their own. It is therefore particularly important, during the early stages of life, to provide sufficient fluids and nutrients – such as energy and electrolytes – in adequate quantities, ideally ad libitum or in the form of supplementary drinks from a suckling bucket. 

EffyLyt are fast-dissolving effervescent tablets containing lactose for energy, electrolytes, flavourings to stimulate the appetite and buffering agents, which dissolve immediately in warm water. When given neat or mixed in a 1:1 ratio with milk / MAT, the solution can help prevent nutritional deficiencies in newborns at an early stage. It is particularly important that the solution tastes good so that even weakened animals are willing to drink it.

Directions for use

• 1 effervescent tablet (50 g) / 1 litre of lukewarm water.
• Suckling calves / suckling piglets: Depending on requirements, dissolve one effervescent tablet 1–3 times daily in 1 litre of water at 37 °C. Offer this freshly prepared solution as a drink, either undiluted or diluted with milk/MAT in a 1:1 ratio. 
• This supplementary feed must only be fed to young animals as an ad libitum drink, constituting up to 18 per cent of their daily ration. The simultaneous use of various organic acids or their salts is contraindicated if the maximum permissible level for one or more of them has been reached or is close to being reached. It is recommended to seek the advice of a vet before feeding. 
• Recommended feeding duration: As required, usually 1–4 days.

• Notes: This product is not intended as a sole feed, but is used as a supplementary feed in addition to milk replacer. Store in a cool, dry place. The shelf life guarantee applies only to unopened containers, provided they are stored in a cool, dry place. Use up once opened.
