Zymafluor is used to prevent caries (tooth decay) in children and adults if there is increased caries activity or if local fluoridation by brushing teeth with fluoride-containing toothpastes is not sufficient.

It is best to consult your dentist for advice on the most suitable fluoridation measures for you.

Tooth enamel consists mainly of hydroxyapatite mineral. On its surface, dental plaque bacteria and food lead to mineral dissolution through acid formation. Saliva components (e.g. calcium, phosphate, fluoride) lead to the natural formation of new minerals. This repair process is overtaxed when dental plaque covers the enamel surfaces. Mineral dissolution predominates and caries develops.

Zymafluor incorporates fluoride into the tooth enamel, thereby increasing its resistance, inhibiting acid-forming bacteria and accelerating the storage of other mineral salts from the saliva.

When taken regularly, fluorides have a protective effect on both milk teeth and permanent teeth. However, the most important thing is to brush your teeth regularly, especially with toothpastes containing fluoride.
