How it works:
Zinc orotate POS is a medicine for the supply (substitution) of zinc in cases of zinc deficiency.
Zinc is a trace element that is essential for human metabolism. Zinc is required for a number of normal bodily functions, such as cell growth and division, sexual maturation and reproduction, wound healing, immune defence and sense of taste. The recommended daily intake for adults is 15 mg.

2 What do you need to consider before taking Zinkorotat-POS?
Zinc orotate POS must not be taken
- if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to zinc orotate or any of the ingredients of Zinkorotat-POS.
Special care is required when taking Zinkorotat-POS,
if the preparation is taken long-term and in high doses.
In this case, copper as well as zinc should be monitored in the laboratory.
When taking Zinkorotat-POS with other medicines:
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.
Foods with a high phytin content (e.g. cereal products, pulses, nuts) reduce the absorption of zinc.
If you are taking copper, iron or phosphate preparations, certain antibiotics (tetracyclines) or a preparation containing D-penicilinamine at the same time, you must take zinc orotate POS at least 2 hours before or after.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
There are no restrictions on the use of Zinkorotat-POS during pregnancy and breastfeeding, provided there is a zinc deficiency and the recommended dosage is not exceeded. The doctor may order laboratory tests for long-term monitoring.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicines.
Ability to drive and use machines:
No special precautions are necessary.
3. how to take Zinkorotat-POS?
Always take Zinkorotat-POS exactly as instructed in this leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not completely sure.
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is
Adults take one tablet 1-2 times a day
Take Zinkorotat-POS tablets unchewed with liquid approx. 1 hour before meals.
If you have taken a larger amount of Zinkorotat-POS than you should:
Overdose symptoms only occur at very high doses, which are many times higher than the recommended daily zinc intake. This can lead to gastrointestinal disorders in particular.
Contact your doctor immediately.
If you have forgotten to take it:
Please do not increase the dose on your own, but continue with the normal intake rhythm.

4 What side effects are possible?
There are generally no side effects within the recommended dose range. Rarely, especially after higher doses, gastrointestinal disorders, copper deficiency and a change in cholesterol metabolism have been observed.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are concerned about these side effects or have other complaints.
5 How should Zinkorotat-POS be stored?
Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.
Do not use the medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the side flap of the carton/blister. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.

Zinc orotate x 2 H2O
1 enteric-coated tablet contains 40 mg zinc orotate x 2 H2O (this corresponds to a pure zinc content of 6.3 mg zinc).
