Alkaline salt or sodium bicarbonate is a versatile mineral. Like magnesium, the inorganic, highly alkaline salt supports numerous biological functions of the human body. Although bicarbonate is formed in the pancreas, an additional supply is useful, especially for deacidifying the body. Alkaline salt in combination with magnesium is also an important source of energy.

How to use

• Application on the skin: 200 grams for a full bath (80 to 100 litres of water) and 40 to 50 grams for a foot bath (approx. 4 litres of water). Bath time: at least 20 minutes. When used together with Zechsal magnesium crystals, reduce the dose by half, i.e. to 100 grams or 20 grams. Tip: First mix only the magnesium crystals with the warm water and only then add the alkaline salt. Mixing at the same time causes a reaction that creates air bubbles and can reduce the effect.
• Oral intake: Add 2.5 grams (half a teaspoon) to a glass of water or water with lemon juice and mix. Take twice daily on an empty stomach or before a meal. Build up the dose slowly.
• Warnings: Taking alkaline salt is generally without risk. The pH value is often a good indication of whether there is a deficiency of alkaline salt. Overdoses can cause headaches and nausea. Prolonged use can damage the kidneys and bladder tissue. Do not use if you are on a low-sodium diet or if you are taking antibiotics or acid inhibitors (at the same time). If in doubt, consult a doctor.
