Xtrata® Transparent Film Dressing with patented STRATAGEL adhesive technology is a versatile solution for wound care. It is breathable, waterproof and thin, providing optimum protection for your wounds.

The horny layer, the stratum corneum, forms an important barrier against the penetration of external substances into the epidermis and, as the outermost layer of skin, prevents the body from losing fluid in an uncontrolled manner. If dressings with conventional adhesive films are used for wound management, this can lead to skin irritation, redness and severe discomfort or even detachment of the stratum corneum upon removal. The unique adhesive layer of XTRATA™ film dressings, on the other hand, adapts perfectly to the skin surface and the STRATAGEL™ soft gel adhesive ensures that the dressings can be removed gently without damaging the stratum corneum.

The patented STRATAGELTM adhesive technology

The innovative adhesive is based on a special gel acrylate adhesive base and, in combination with the polyurethane film, creates high moisture permeability and a high MVTR value. XTRATATM film dressings are extremely breathable. This ensures high transpiration and minimises damage to the horny layer when removing the film. The exclusive polymer design is also waterproof and therefore suitable for showering and bathing without any problems. The skin-friendly adhesive layer adapts perfectly to the skin surface - even in areas that are exposed to high levels of movement - and is also suitable for securing tubes, catheters or stoma and CAPD accesses.

Areas of application

The transparent XTRATA™ dressing films are highly moisture-permeable and extremely skin-friendly. They are used:

• To protect healthy tissue in the wound area during negative pressure therapy
• To protect stomas and CAPD devices during bathing
• To secure probes and drains
• For temporary skin marking during radiotherapy

Application

1. Cut to the required length with scissors.
2. Remove the paper liner in the centre.
3. Place the film roll on the application area and smooth the surface to ensure good adhesion.
4. Remove the paper liner on both sides (for 24R05 only one paper liner on each side).
5. Lift the blue tabs in the centre of the liner and carefully remove.
