Xtrata® Transparent Film Dressing, featuring the patented STRATAGEL adhesive technology, is a versatile solution for wound care. It is breathable, waterproof and thin, offering optimum protection for your wounds.

The stratum corneum forms an important barrier against the penetration of external substances into the epidermis and, as the outermost layer of the skin, prevents the body from losing fluid uncontrollably. If dressings with conventional adhesive films are used for wound management, removal can lead to skin irritation, redness and severe discomfort, or even detachment of the stratum corneum. The unique adhesive layer of XTRATA™ film dressings, on the other hand, conforms perfectly to the skin’s surface, and the STRATAGEL™ soft-gel adhesive ensures that the wound dressings can be removed gently without damaging the stratum corneum.

The patented STRATAGEL™ adhesive technology

The innovative adhesive is based on a special gel-acrylate adhesive base and, in combination with the polyurethane film, provides high moisture permeability and a high MVTR value. XTRATATM film dressings are extremely breathable. This ensures high moisture vapour transmission and minimises damage to the stratum corneum when the film is removed. The exclusive polymer design is also waterproof, making it ideal for showering and bathing. The skin-friendly adhesive layer conforms perfectly to the skin’s surface – even in areas subject to a great deal of movement – and is also suitable for securing tubes, catheters or stoma and CAPD access points.

Areas of application

The transparent XTRATA™ dressing films are highly moisture-permeable and exceptionally skin-friendly. They are used:

• To protect healthy tissue around the wound during negative pressure therapy
• To protect stomas and CAPD devices whilst bathing
• To secure catheters and drains
• For temporary skin marking during radiotherapy

Directions for use

1. Cut to the required length with scissors.
2. Remove the paper liner from the centre.
3. Apply the film roll to the area to be treated and smooth the surface to ensure good adhesion.
4. Remove the paper liners from both sides (for 24R05, only one paper liner on each side).
5. Lift the blue tabs in the centre of the top films and remove them carefully.
