Product information "Wellion NEWTON GDH-FAD blood glucose test strips can"
The handy Wellion NEWTON GDH-FAD blood glucose test strips are used with the Wellion NEWTON GDH-FAD BTE meter to measure blood glucose levels in all types of blood samples (capillary, venous, arterial and neonatal).
The Wellion NEWTON metres are ideal for use by healthcare professionals. We have deliberately chosen to produce the Wellion test strips in a compact size, making it very easy and safe to remove them from the tin and insert them into the meter. The end where blood is drawn into the strip’s reaction zone using Sip-in technology is, due to the strip’s dimensions, positioned far enough away from the meter to prevent contamination with blood.

Instructions for use
- Remove a Wellion NEWTON blood glucose test strip from the test strip tin and close it again immediately. Insert the test strip into the meter to switch it on. The display will show the ‘Glu’ symbol, the flashing blood drop symbol.
- Press the lancing device (with a fresh lancet) against the side of your fingertip and press the release button to prick the skin and obtain a drop of blood.
- Now hold the tip of the test strip at a slight angle to the blood sample. The test strip draws in the blood like a straw. The meter begins the countdown as soon as there is enough blood for the measurement. After 5 seconds, the reading appears on the display. The result is automatically stored in the memory.
Useful tips:
- Do not use test strips that have passed their expiry date. Check the expiry date printed on the test strip container and the packaging.
- Close the test strip container IMMEDIATELY after removing a test strip to protect the remaining test strips from humidity.
- Use test strips immediately after removing them from the container.
- Do not use wet or damaged test strips.
- Avoid direct sunlight and heat.
- Store the test strips in a dry, cool place (not in the bathroom).
- Write the date of first opening on the label of the test strip container. Dispose of any remaining test strips 6 months after first opening.
- Dispose of the used test strip and lancet immediately after taking a reading.
Notes: A Wellion blood glucose test strip is a high-tech product. The test strip consists of various layers into which electrodes are incorporated using a complex process, whilst a biological substrate is applied to the reaction zone using a precision process. Glucose oxidase is an enzyme that reacts highly specifically with glucose in the blood. This reaction generates an electric current, which is converted by the meter into a corresponding blood glucose reading and displayed on the screen. Wellion blood glucose test strips feature NO CODE technology – which guarantees you added peace of mind.
