Wellion® GALILEO GLU/KET - The 2 in 1 blood glucose meter for measuring blood glucose levels and ketones, for the safe prevention of diabetic ketoacidosis.

Glucose measurement is a daily routine for diabetics. Glucose is the main source of energy in the body. However, the body can only utilise glucose for energy if sufficient insulin is also present. If this is lacking, the body has to resort to fatty acids as an alternative source of energy - this produces ketones, which in high concentrations can lead to life-threatening diabetic ketoacidosis. For this reason, the ketone level in the blood should also be measured when blood glucose levels are high in order to prevent the development of diabetic ketoacidosis in good time.

The Wellion GALILEO GLU-KET meter makes it possible to determine both parameters quickly and easily. Use the appropriate test strip to measure either glucose or ketones - no coding is necessary, the device automatically recognises which test strip is being used.

The Wellion GALILEO GLU-KET meter offers a perfectly legible display with large numbers that is always backlit. The illuminated test strip slot is particularly practical, allowing measurements to be taken even in poor lighting conditions (e.g. in the cinema). The Wellion GALILEO GLU-KET meter is also available with an eject button for special hygiene requirements, such as those found in hospitals or care homes.
