Wellion® GALILEO GLU/KET – The 2-in-1 blood glucose meter for measuring blood glucose levels and ketones, to help prevent diabetic ketoacidosis.

For people with diabetes, measuring blood glucose is part of their daily routine. Glucose is the body’s main source of energy. However, the body can only convert glucose into energy if sufficient insulin is also present. If insulin is lacking, the body must resort to fatty acids as an alternative energy source – a process that produces ketones, which, in high concentrations, can lead to life-threatening diabetic ketoacidosis. Therefore, when blood glucose levels are high, the ketone level in the blood should also be measured to prevent the development of diabetic ketoacidosis in good time.

The Wellion GALILEO GLU-KET meter allows both parameters to be determined quickly and easily. Use the appropriate test strip to measure either glucose or ketones – no coding is required; the device automatically recognises which test strip is being used.

The Wellion GALILEO GLU-KET meter features a perfectly legible display with large numbers that is always backlit. The illuminated test strip slot is particularly practical, as it allows testing even in low light (e.g. at the cinema). For specific hygiene requirements, such as those in hospitals or care homes, the Wellion GALILEO GLU-KET meter is also available with an ejection button.
