With the Wellion GALILEO GLU/KET BTE meter, you can now measure your blood glucose and ketones and transmit them via Bluetooth. Manage your data via the Wellion SiDiary app - for your personal diabetes management. The Wellion SiDiary app is available to download from the Google Play and Apple App Store.
Simply insert the Wellion GALILEO blood glucose test strip into the test strip slot. The meter activates automatically to draw in the drop of blood at the tip of the test strip. After the countdown, the Wellion GALILEO GLU/KET BTE blood glucose meter shows the current value in large digits on the display. The illuminated test strip insert is particularly practical, allowing you to measure even in poor lighting conditions (e.g. in bed at night, at the cinema).
The body can only utilise glucose for energy if sufficient insulin is available at the same time. If this is lacking, the body has to resort to fatty acids as an alternative source of energy - this produces ketones, which in high concentrations can lead to life-threatening diabetic ketoacidosis. For this reason, the ketone level in the blood should also be measured when blood glucose levels are high in order to prevent the development of diabetic ketoacidosis in good time.
Hyperalert / ketoacidosis perception limit
The hyperalert limit is ideal for helping you to recognise a risk of ketoacidosis in good time. If your meter shows a hyperalert at the same time as your glucose reading, it is advisable to perform a ketone measurement.
You can perform a ketone measurement directly with your Wellion GALILEO GLU/KET BTE meter and a Wellion GALILEO ketone test strip. These are individually packaged, so you can take one or two with you in your device bag at any time and are also ideally prepared when travelling. No coding is necessary, the device automatically recognises which test strip is being used.
