Vliwaktiv® Ag is a sterile, silver-impregnated activated carbon tamponade for the treatment of infected wounds. The tamponade consists of a non-woven fabric impregnated with activated carbon and silver. The activated charcoal binds bacteria and endotoxins, whilst the silver has an antibacterial effect.
Vliwaktiv Ag combines the odour-binding properties of activated charcoal with the antimicrobial effect of silver. Available as an absorbent dressing and a tamponade, the product is suitable for the management of critically colonised wounds, infected and/or malodorous wounds, and wounds with an increased risk of infection.
