Venosin retard 50 mg capsules, 60 ST

Venosin retard 50 mg capsules are a medicinal product and counteract oedema (fluid accumulation in body tissue) with the natural active ingredient of horse chestnut seed extract.

Aescin, the active ingredient in horse chestnut seed extract, tightens the vein cross-section, reduces vascular permeability and promotes venous blood drainage and blood circulation down to the smallest vessels.

When taken regularly, Venosin retard inhibits the transfer of blood components from the vessels into the tissue, thus inhibiting the formation of oedema and preventing it.

Venosin retard is used for functional disorders in or as a result of diseases of the leg veins (symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency), e.g:

• varicose veins
• inflammation of the veins (phlebitis and thrombophlebitis)

with symptoms such as pain in the legs:

• Feeling of heaviness
• itching
• nocturnal calf cramps
• leg swelling
• feeling of tension
• leg fatigue
• accumulation of fluid in the tissue (oedema)

This medicine is used in adults aged 18 years and over. If you do not feel better or feel worse, consult your doctor.

Directions for use

• Adults: Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the usual dose is: 1 capsule in the morning and 1 capsule in the evening.
• Route of administration: Oral use: Take unchewed with plenty of liquid before meals. If mild stomach or intestinal complaints occur, it is recommended to take the medicine with meals.
• Duration of use: The duration of use depends on the symptoms. In principle, there is no time limit on the duration of use. If the symptoms persist, a doctor should be consulted about continuing treatment.
• Use in children and adolescents: It is not intended for use in children and adolescents under the age of 18.

Ingredients

• The active ingredient is: Dry extract of horse chestnut seeds 1 capsule contains horse chestnut seed extract corresponding to 50 mg triterpene glycosides, calculated as anhydrous β-escin.
• The other ingredients are: dextrin, copovidone, talc, eudragitol, triethyl citrate, gelatine, iron oxide black, red and yellow E 172, titanium dioxide E171, indigo carmine E 132, quinoline yellow E 104.
