Compared to other products on the market, whose concentrations per serving are usually between 1 and 15 billion bacteria, VSL#3 has a concentration up to 450 times higher and a special mixture of different bacterial strains of natural origin.

Bacterial strains in VSL#3

One sachet of VSL3 contains 450 billion live bacteria from:

• 3 strains of bifidobacteria: Bifidobacterium breve, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium infantis)
• 4 strains of lactic acid bacteria: Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus delbrueckii subspecies bulgaricus
• Streptococcus thermophilus

Directions for use

• The recommended intake is 1 sachet per day. Stir the contents of one sachet into water, yoghurt, apple juice or another non-carbonated cold drink and drink immediately afterwards.
• Pregnant women & breastfeeding mothers: Data from the literature shows that VSL#3® is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Although VSL#3® contains naturally occurring, beneficial microorganisms, pregnant or breastfeeding women are always advised to speak to their doctor or other healthcare professional before taking VSL#3® or any other dietary supplement.
• Taking with medication: VSL#3® is considered compatible with all types of medications. If taken with antibiotics, it will not harm you, but the viability of the bacteria in VSL#3® may be reduced.
• Notes: When VSL#3® is first taken, you may experience bloating while the balance of bacteria in the digestive tract changes. This is usually a temporary phenomenon due to the changing intestinal microflora. If bloating occurs, the daily intake may need to be reduced to allow for this adjustment.
