VITACTIV® Vitamin B Complex is a high-quality dietary supplement that has been developed to optimise the supply of B vitamins in cases of deficiency.

VITACTIV® Vitamin B Complex contains vitamins B2, B6 and B12 in their biologically active form, as sodium riboflavin 5'-phosphate, pyridoxine 5'-phosphate and methylcobalamin. Niacin in the form of nicotinamide is better tolerated and causes fewer flushing symptoms (reddening of the skin).

Properties

• B-complex vitamins belong to the group of water-soluble vitamins and play a central role in almost all metabolic reactions. However, the storage capacity for water-soluble vitamins in the body is very low, which is why a regular supply is necessary.
• B vitamins are components of enzymes or coenzymes and have catalytic and regulatory functions in carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism. This supports the conversion of energy from macronutrients such as carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Vitamins B1, B2, pantothenic acid, B6, biotin and B12 contribute to normal energy metabolism. Vitamins B1, B2, niacin, B6, biotin and B12 ensure normal functioning of the nervous system. Frequent tiredness and fatigue are also reduced by vitamins B2, niacin, pantothenic acid, B6, folic acid and B12. In addition, vitamins B2, B6, folic acid and B12 support the maintenance and formation of red blood cells. The positive influence of vitamin B6, folic acid and vitamin B12 on the homocysteine metabolism should not be forgotten.

When is a supplementary intake of B vitamins useful?

• An increased need for B vitamins can have various causes and depends on individual factors. One factor can be the prolonged intake of certain medicines, such as stomach protection preparations (active ingredient e.g. omeprazole, cimetidine) or the contraceptive pill. These can have a negative effect on the absorption of vitamin B. Strict vegetarian or vegan diets often do not provide an adequate supply of B vitamins. Alcohol abuse and high tobacco consumption can also lead to an undersupply.

• Take 1 capsule once a day unchewed with plenty of liquid after a meal.
• Important information: VITACTIV® Vitamin B Complex is not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Store in a cool, dry place away from light. Keep out of reach of children.
• Interactions: Taking 5-fluorouracil, loop diuretics (e.g. furosemide) and pyridoxine antagonists (e.g. isoniazid) can reduce the absorption of B vitamins. Folic acid antagonists such as methotrexate and trimethoprim inhibit the biological activity of folic acid. Consult your doctor before using VITACTIV® Vitamin B Complex if you are taking any of these or other medicines.
• Precautions: VITACTIV® Vitamin B Complex is generally well tolerated. Regular large overdoses over a long period of time can lead to adverse health effects. Riboflavin-5-phosphate can sometimes lead to intense yellowing of the urine, but this is harmless. Do not use in case of known allergy or hypersensitivity to any component.
