Application
- In the anus (rectally): Apply a little Vaseline to the measuring tip to make insertion easier. The measuring tip is carefully inserted 1 cm into the anus.
- In the mouth (oral): Insert the measuring tip into one of the two heat pockets under the tongue to the left or right of the root of the tongue. Close your mouth and breathe evenly through your nose.
- Under the arm (axillary): The skin must be absolutely dry. Place the measuring tip under the arm so that the measuring tip is in good contact with the skin. Press the arm firmly against the body. From a medical point of view, the axillary measurement method gives inaccurate readings and should not be used if you want precise readings
- Notes: Read these instructions for use carefully before using the thermometer. The device is not suitable for measuring temperature in the ear (see measurement types). Do not force the measuring tip when taking rectal measurements. Cancel the measurement if you feel pain. Risk of injury! Carefully pull the battery holder approx. 1 cm out of the housing. Use a pointed object to push the battery out of its holder. Insert a new battery (type LR41, SR41, AG3 or V392, 1.5 V) with the + sign facing upwards. Slide the battery holder back into the housing and replace the battery compartment cover. Do not use the thermometer for oral measurements if it has previously been used for rectal measurements. Do not perform oral measurements on children under 2 years of age. Do not take a measurement if the thermometer is wet. This can lead to inaccurate readings. Do not bite the thermometer. This can lead to damage and injury! Do not drop the thermometer. It is neither shock nor impact resistant. CLEANING AND DISINFECTION Immerse the tip of the thermometer in distilled water for at least 1 minute. Wipe the thermometer with a clean, soft cloth to remove any residue. Repeat these steps 3 times until no more dirt is visible after cleaning. When using protective covers, the measured temperature may deviate by approx. 0.1 °C. The thermometer contains small parts (battery, etc.) that could be swallowed by children. Choking hazard! Therefore, do not leave the device unattended to children. Do not expose the battery to extreme heat. Explosion hazard! Do not open the device (except when changing the battery). Using this device in the vicinity of portable telephones, microwave ovens or other devices with strong electromagnetic fields can lead to malfunctions. Keep a minimum distance of 3 metres from such devices during use. Discuss the measured values with your doctor. Do not judge the measurement results yourself. Self-diagnosis can aggravate an existing medical condition. If you have a high temperature, you should always consult a doctor! Use outside the intended operating conditions or storage outside the intended storage and transport conditions can lead to inaccurate readings. If the patient's body temperature is below the ambient temperature, correct measurements cannot be taken. If the device has been stored at temperatures below 5 °C or above 40 °C, leave it at room temperature for at least 15 minutes before using it. Clean and disinfect the thermometer after each use, especially if it is used by several people. Remove the battery if you are not going to use the device for a long time
