Product information "Toppoll® 10mg tablets"
Toppoll® is used to treat allergy-related inflammation of the nasal mucosa, such as hay fever or chronic urticaria of unknown cause. Toppoll® stops allergic rhinitis, quickly relieves itching and provides long-lasting decongestant relief.
The active ingredient in Toppoll®, loratadine, is an antihistamine. Histamine is a messenger substance produced by the body and also a trigger for allergic reactions. To be effective, histamine must bind to specific binding sites on the cell surface (known as receptors). Loratadine occupies these receptors, thereby preventing histamine from binding to them, which in turn prevents or reduces allergic reactions.
Toppoll® is particularly suitable for treating acute symptoms. Loratadine can provide rapid and long-lasting relief from the symptoms of an allergic reaction.
One tablet per day can be taken at any time, regardless of meals. Toppoll® is available over the counter for adults and children aged 13 and over, and is suitable for people with diabetes (1 tablet contains less than 0.01 BE).

Directions for use
Adults and children over 12 years of age:
- One tablet once daily.
- No dose adjustment is required for patients over 65 years of age or patients with impaired kidney function.
Children aged 2 to 12 years:
- For a body weight of over 30 kg: one tablet once daily
- For a body weight of 30 kg or less: ½ tablet once daily
Method of administration
The tablets should be taken regardless of mealtimes. Swallow the tablet with a glass of water.
Duration of treatment
Take Toppoll for as long as your symptoms persist or as your doctor has advised.
Ingredients
The active ingredient is loratadine.
Each tablet contains 10 mg of loratadine.
The other ingredients are: lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, maize starch and highly dispersed silicon dioxide
