- Temporary immobilisation of individual udder quarters leads to accelerated healing of lesions in the teat canal area. To prevent narrowing of the teat canal during immobilisation, the teat canal should be widened. When using a teat pin, the mucosal compatibility and sterility of the teat pin is particularly important in order to avoid secondary inflammatory-proliferative changes to the teat cistern mucosa and infections.
