The ratio of the ingredients is selected in such a way that the acidic character of the ascorbic acid is compensated (buffered) by the alkaline calcium ascorbate. Ascorbyl palmitate is a fat-soluble form of vitamin C that releases the vitamin C slowly over a longer period of time.

Vitamin C is an essential vital substance that is very important for the entire cell metabolism. Among other things, vitamin C contributes to normal energy metabolism, the normal function of the nervous system and the immune system. It helps to protect cells from oxidative stress. An undersupply of vitamin C in the body often leads to a reduction in well-being and performance. Unfortunately, your body cannot produce vitamin C itself. You have to take it in with your food. The daily requirement of vitamin C would normally be covered by a balanced diet with plenty of vegetables and fresh fruit. However, an unbalanced or incorrectly prepared diet, smoking, stress, physical exertion, adolescent growth, pregnancy and breastfeeding or reduced vitamin absorption capacity (e.g. in old age) can lead to an increased vitamin requirement.
