How can I use organic cumin oil?
Cumin, also commonly known as ‘Mutterkümmel’, is best known as a culinary spice. In Ayurveda, the traditional Indian system of medicine, it has been valued for over a thousand years for its wide range of applications – both on a mental and physical level. The pleasantly warm scent of cumin alone, with its gentle hint of aniseed, gives us a touch of oriental flair.
Organic cumin oil has now established itself as an integral part of aromatherapy. This 100% naturally pure essence is regarded as a true mood-lifter, helping us to find renewed courage on gloomy days. Organic cumin oil should be used sparingly in an aroma diffuser or on an aroma stone, as the scent is quite intense. To create a wonderful scented atmosphere in your home, try combining it with aniseed, fennel or lavender oil.
Organic cumin oil for external use
Organic cumin oil is ideal as an additive for relaxing massages for babies and young children: this natural essential oil is gentle and well-tolerated. It is therefore often gently applied to little ones’ tummies. To do this, it is best to mix the oil with aniseed or fennel oil and coriander oil, and then add a mild, nourishing carrier oil, such as cold-pressed almond oil. As a general rule, essential oils should always be well diluted when used externally on the skin, and care must be taken to avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes.
How does organic cumin oil work?
Aromatherapy literature attributes various properties to organic cumin oil, which can have a positive effect on the mind and well-being. Its beneficial effect following a tummy massage is particularly valued – and not just for babies. Many customers also buy organic cumin oil to dilute it in a carrier oil and use it for soothing massages on the abdomen and chest.

- INCI note: Essential oils are composed of a multitude of individual components. Substances such as limonene and linalool are completely natural components of the essential oil; they are not added. However, they are among the 26 allergenic fragrances subject to declaration and must therefore be listed separately, as some people may be allergic to individual ingredients. In the INCI, a ‘parfum’ refers to a blend of various essential oils when we wish to keep the exact composition a trade secret. All our products are free from synthetic substances!
