SymbioLact® Pro Darm* Multi is a food supplement containing biotin and 11 different, harmonised strains of lactic acid-producing bacteria - with the highly active bacterial strain Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG.
The bacterial strains contained in SymbioLact® Pro Darm* Multi:
- Shorten/prevent antibiotic-induced diarrhoea 1,2
- Reduce symptoms that typically occur when taking antibiotics, e.g. flatulence, constipation & abdominal pain 1,3
Some of these species belong to the natural representatives of the intestinal flora, others can colonise temporarily. The bacteria contained in SymbioLact® Pro Darm* Multi are freeze-dried. As soon as they come into contact with water, they can absorb it, become active and multiply.
In addition to the lactic acid bacteria, SymbioLact® Pro Darm* Multi contains the amino acid L-glutamine (2.25 g per stick) and the vitamin biotin (30 μg per stick). Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin and plays an important role in the metabolism of the body's cells. Very active tissues such as the body's mucous membranes in particular need biotin.
The intestinal mucosa is the largest mucous membrane in the body. It regenerates completely every two to three days. In order to be able to maintain this enormous metabolic performance in the long term, it is necessary that the body is well supplied with all important nutritional components.
The largest amount of biotin comes from the daily diet. Smaller amounts are produced by the intestinal flora and contribute to the total amount. They thus supplement the daily amount of biotin that is absorbed from food. An increased need for biotin can arise in particular when taking various medications, such as antibiotics.
Biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes and normal skin. Our intestinal mucosa in particular, with a surface area of 400 to 600 square metres, is dependent on an adequate supply of nutrients. Biotin also contributes to normal energy metabolism and normal functioning of the nervous system.
SymbioLact® Pro Darm* Multi: For antibiotics - for the gut*!
Antibiotics are indispensable tools of modern medicine. However, in addition to their positive properties, they can also have negative effects. Depending on the antibiotic used, important, endogenous bacteria of the intestinal flora are often killed in addition to the harmful bacteria Read more Close all microorganisms in the intestine. This can lead to gastrointestinal complaints such as antibiotic-associated diarrhoea (AAD). Studies show that specific probiotic strains can contribute to the prevention of AAD1,2.
This is where SymbioLact® Pro Darm* Multi comes in. It contains 11 bacterial strains in combination with L-glutamine and biotin, which contribute to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes (e.g. intestinal mucosa). The bacterial strains contained are characterised in particular by their well-founded study situation.
