Application
Suprasorb® F Protect film wound dressing sterile is available in various sizes. Make sure that you select a suitable size depending on the application. The adhesive film wound dressing should always be applied approx. 2 cm beyond the wound edge or the fixed primary dressing.
Preparation:
- Clean the wound/application site before applying the dressing and dab the edges dry. The Suprasorb® F Protect film wound dressing adheres optimally to dry skin.
Application:
- Before use, visually inspect the sterile barrier system for breaches in packaging integrity (damage). Open the pouch at the point labelled for this purpose and remove the product.
- Turn the Suprasorb® F Protect film wound dressing so that the printed side is facing you. Take the grip tabs between your index finger and thumb and pull them apart completely.
- Turn the product 180° so that the adhesive surface is facing the patient or wound.
- Place the product in the centre of the wound (the area to be fixed) and gently press it into place (especially at the edges).
- Then take the grip tabs between your index finger and thumb again and pull them off together with the support film.
Removal:
To remove the product with as little pain as possible, the bond between the adhesive and the skin can be broken by stretching the plastic film. The film wound dressing should be stretched as parallel to the skin as possible.
Renewal of the dressing:
- The intervals at which Suprasorb® F Protect film wound dressing needs to be renewed are determined by the healthcare professional providing treatment. These depend on the individual skin condition of the patient and the underlying medical findings. Dressings that are soiled or no longer hold securely in place must be renewed.
