Squamasol® - Gel contains salicylic acid and is a keratolytic (exfoliating agent) for the treatment of diseases of the scalp.

Squamasol® - Gel is suitable for the removal of bark and dandruff in scalp diseases such as psoriasis of the hairy head, seborrhoeic (scaly) eczema of the scalp and severe forms of dandruff in adults, adolescents and children aged 12 years and over.

How to use

Adults and children aged 12 and over:

Unless otherwise prescribed, Squamasol® - Gel is applied two to three times a week . 10 g of gel is sufficient to treat the entire head. If only individual areas of the scalp show severe dandruff, these areas should be treated with a correspondingly smaller amount. In the case of very severe dandruff and bark , treatment can be initiated in the short term with daily application. The application time is at least 10 minutes, but can be extended to a maximum of 30 minutes in the case of severe dandruff . The treatment should be carried outas a cure over a period of 3-4 weeks.

To maintain the success of the treatment, it is recommended to continue treatment at longer intervals (once a week or fortnightly). For dry and sensitive scalps, it is recommended to limit the application time to 10 minutes and to reduce the frequency of application to avoid local irritation . The maximum daily dose for adults of 2 g salicylic acid, which corresponds to 20 g Squamasol® - Gel, must not be used for longer than one week.

Squamasol® - Gel is applied in a thin layer directly to the dry or slightly moistened scalp , parting the hair beforehand if necessary. The gel is then massaged in gently. After applying and massaging in, you should rinseyour hands thoroughly.
Leave the gel on for as long as recommended in the instructions for use or as recommended by a doctor.
After the intended application time, rinse the gel thoroughly from the scalp and hair with water. Make sure that the wash water does not get into the eyes. It is not usually necessary towash the hair after the treatment. However, a mild shampoo can be used if required.

Ingredients

100 g gel contains 10.0 g salicylic acid as the active ingredient.

The other ingredients are: macrogol glycerol cocoate, macrogol glycerol ricinoleate, macrogol 5-oleyl ether, sodium dodecyl sulphate, yellow wax, castor oil, glycerol monostearate 40-55, propylene glycol, palmitoyl ascorbic acid, butylhydroxytoluene (E 321), citric acid, rosemary perfume oil.
