PMD: A plant-based active ingredient
Soventol® PROTECT contains the plant-based active ingredient p-menthane-3,8-diol, or ‘PMD’ for short. This ingredient, which is extracted from the essential oil of the lemon eucalyptus tree, has proven effective in protecting against ticks. Here’s how PMD works: when applied, it gives off a distinctive odour that ensures humans simply no longer appear attractive to ticks. Its skin compatibility has been dermatologically tested.
Water-resistant and sweat-proof
People who are physically active – such as those who enjoy jogging or hiking in the countryside – are particularly likely to encounter insect bites. All the better, then, that Soventol® PROTECT offers significant advantages over many conventional mosquito repellents: it is both water-resistant and sweat-resistant.

Directions for use
- Please also refer to the instructions on the packaging for the correct use of Soventol® PROTECT.
- In general, the application procedure is as follows: Spray Soventol® PROTECT evenly and thoroughly over the body and then rub it in.
- For use on the face, Soventol® PROTECT should first be sprayed into the palms of your hands and then applied sparingly to the face. Avoid the eyes and mouth area.
- Tip: Areas of skin covered by light clothing should also be sprayed – insects can bite through these fabrics too. If you are using sun cream, Soventol® PROTECT should be applied afterwards, following a short waiting period.
- You can use Soventol® PROTECT several times a day without having to observe a ‘safety waiting period’. This helps to extend the duration of protection even further.
- Notes: Soventol® PROTECT is not suitable for infants. Soventol® PROTECT can be used on young children aged 1 year and over. Use biocidal products with care. Always read the label and product information before use. Contains citronellol. May cause allergic reactions.
