Solutio Cordes® is a solution for application to the scalp containing the active ingredient sodium bituminosulphonate, a light-coloured substance belonging to the group of sulphonated shale oils. Solutio Cordes® is used as an adjunctive treatment for scaly scalp conditions associated with excessive sebum production.
It inhibits the excessive production of sebum and thereby primarily reduces dandruff and ‘oily’ skin. It also has anti-inflammatory, anti-itching, antibacterial, antifungal and circulation-promoting effects. The alcoholic base of Solutio Cordes® dissolves sebum and loosens dandruff, whilst also having an antibacterial effect.

Directions for use
Method of application:For use on the (scalp) skin.Correct application is essential for the success of treatment with Solutio Cordes.You should therefore set aside time for this every day.
- First,brush the dry hairvigorously ‘against the grain’, i.e.against the parting orthe crown.
- Then apply enough Solutio Cordes to the scalp until the hairis thoroughly moistened. The amount required depends onthe hair’soiliness and length.
- Solutio Cordes is spread with the fingers and gently massaged in,producing a lightlather which quickly dissipates.
- This loosens the sebum and dislodges the dandruff. To removethe sebum and dandruff, the hair mustbe rubbed drywith a towel. Thistransfersthe sebum and dandruff onto thetowel. If the hair is not driedin this way,sebum and dandruffwill remainon the scalponcethe Solutio Cordes has evaporated.
Dosage for adults:Solutio Cordes is applied to the affected scalp two to three times a day.The duration of treatment depends on the success of the treatment; treatment shouldbe continued until the symptoms subside. Use forlonger than8 weekshas not been investigated.The frequency of application of Solutio Cordes depends on the clinical presentation,but should not exceed three times a day.
