Solgar® Vitamin D₃ (cholecalciferol) 600 IU (15 μg) capsules are a high-quality food supplement that contributes to the maintenance of normal vitamin D levels in the blood. Vitamin D is important for bone health, the immune system and muscle function.

Immune system in balance

Vitamin D is one of the best-known vitamins, even though it is actually a hormone. If you are low in vitamin D, some processes relevant to the immune system, such as the formation of defence and immune cells, cannot take place or cannot take place as necessary. Vitamin D also supports the absorption of calcium. Vitamin D therefore also supports the maintenance of bones and teeth.

The body can basically produce the vitamin itself via the skin, but for this it needs the sun, or more precisely, UVB radiation. And this changes over the course of the months: from November to March, the sun does not have enough power. What's more, when it's cold, we wear more clothes and so not much skin is exposed to the sun. This can quickly lead to vitamin D levels not being high enough if we are dependent on the sun to produce it ourselves. You can also find the vitamin in animal foods, but in very small quantities.
