Nattokinase is a fibrinolytic peptidase extractedfrom the well-known Japanese dish natto (fermented soya beans). Peptidases are enzymes that can break down proteins. Peptidases break down the protein structure and transform it into more digestible amino acids. Nattokinase is characterised by the fact that, as a peptidase, it is able to break down those substances (so-called fibrin) that cause deposits to adhere to the arteries.
