SinoPlaSan Zechstein Magnesium Flakes are suitable for use in full-body, hand or foot baths. Ideal for recovery after physical exertion.
Maca roots (Lepidium meyenii Walp.) have become increasingly popular, particularly in recent years. However, the Incas were already aware of the unique properties of this superfood and used the plant’s tubers for a wide variety of purposes.
The magnesium chloride contained in this product is sourced from the magnesium chloride deposits of the ancient Zechstein Sea, which dried up around 250 million years ago. The Zechstein Sea is regarded worldwide as the purest and most natural source of high-quality magnesium chloride. It is extracted in the Netherlands from a depth of 1,600 metres and its quality is monitored through continuous analysis.
Magnesium chloride is approved for external use and is applied to the skin.
Magnesium flakes are produced by heating magnesium oil to over 165 degrees Celsius. During this process, the physical state of the magnesium oil changes from liquid to solid. Magnesium flakes contain 47 per cent magnesium chloride and 53 per cent water. The solid state of the flakes results from the highly water-absorbing (hygroscopic) nature of magnesium chloride. The packaging should therefore always be kept tightly sealed, as otherwise the flakes will revert to magnesium oil.
Transdermal magnesium offers many advantages over other sources of magnesium, as it:
- Does not irritate the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract
- Has no laxative effect on the skin, even at high doses
- Can be applied locally to the desired areas (areas with sweat glands are recommended)
- Is suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women

- When dissolved in water, these flakes are suitable for a full bath, hand bath or foot bath, and for gentle skin care.
- Recommended bath temperature: 37°C.
- Bath duration: 20 to 30 minutes.
- For a full bath, we recommend approx. 500–750 g of flakes.
