The elastic Silverlon® Flex wound dressing adapts perfectly to body contours. The permanent antimicrobial effect reduces germs directly at the source of the wound. Sterile packaging for the professional treatment of acute and chronic wounds.
Sterile, single-layer, non-adhesive, antimicrobial barrier dressings for topical application in wound care and negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) to reduce the risk of wound infection. The barrier dressings consist of nylon threads that are autocatalytically coated with 1 micrometre 99.9% pure silver
Silverlon® wound contact dressings for wound care and NPWT have the following properties thanks to the unique Silver Plating technology - each individual nylon thread is irreversibly autocatalytically coated with 1 micrometre 99.9% silver:
- Broad antimicrobial spectrum; silver ions are effective against a wide range of wound-typical pathogens, including Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, Enterobacter cloacae, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Klebsiella pneumoniae
- Continuous release of silver ions
- Can remain on the wound for up to 7 days depending on the wound status
- Do not stain and therefore do not discolour the skin
- Hypoallergenic and latex-free
- Cost-effective and economical
- Silverlon® wound contact dressings are MRI-compatible (proven in-vitro)
Silver ions act against pathogens via three mechanisms:
- Bind to receptors on the bacterial cell wall and prevent cell respiration
- Prevent nutrient uptake by the bacterial cell via the same mechanism
- Penetrate the cell, destroy the DNA and thus prevent cell replication
Areas of application
Silverlon® flex/Easy Ag wound contact dressings for wound care and NPWT are suitable for wound care and for use as part of negative pressure therapy for the following wounds:
- 1st and 2nd degree burns
- Wounds at the skin removal and transplantation site
- Diabetic, decubital and venous ulcers

* Silverlon® flex/Easy Ag wound contact dressings for wound care and NPWT can also be used on infected wounds as listed above. When used on infected wounds, the infection must be treated according to local clinical protocol. Dosage form
Wound dressing with silver ions, sterile (medical device, please follow the instructions for use!)
Application
- Clean the wound according to the local protocol.
- Select dressing size so that the dressing overlaps the wound edges by 1 to 2 cm.
- To activate the Silverlon® wound dressing, moisten it thoroughly with sterile water, distilled water or isotonic saline solution.
- Position the Silverlon® dressing over the wound so that the silver side touches the skin; secure the dressing with a secondary dressing: - For exuding wounds, choose an absorbent secondary dressing; - For dry wounds, use a moisturising secondary dressing, such as a hydrocolloid dressing or a moistened foam dressing.
- Check the edges of the Silverlon® dressing regularly to ensure that they remain moist.
- Silverlon® dressings can remain on the wound for up to 7 days depending on the status of the wound and the amount of exudate.
