Seresto® 4.50 g + 2.03 g collar for dogs > 8 kg is a veterinary medicinal product for the prevention and treatment of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis, C. canis) with a duration of action of 7 to 8 months.

Indications

• For the prevention and treatment of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis, C. canis) with a duration of action of 7 to 8 months.
• The veterinary medicinal product prevents the development of flea larvae in the immediate vicinity of the animal for 8 months.
• The veterinary medicinal product can be used as part of the treatment strategy for flea allergic dermatitis (flea allergy dermatitis, FAD).

The veterinary medicinal product has a sustained acaricidal (killing) effect on tick infestations with Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Dermacentor reticulatus, as well as repellent (anti-feeding = preventing the blood meal) effect on tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus) with a duration of action of 8 months. The veterinary medicinal product is effective against larvae, nymphs and adult ticks.

It is possible that ticks already present on the dog at the time of treatment will not be killed within the first 48 hours of the collar being applied and will remain attached and visible. Therefore, ticks that are already on the dog at the time of treatment should be removed. Protection against infestation with new ticks begins within two days of applying the collar.

How to use

• Mode of action: Constantly low quantities of both active ingredients are released from the collar to the skin surface and remain there exclusively. The distribution of the active ingredients is supported by skin-compatible, neutral oils.
• Application safety: Release mechanism on the collar for large dogs
• Contraindications: Do not use on puppies less than 7 weeks old and cats less than 10 weeks old.
