Vitamin D3 belongs to the group of fat-soluble vitamins and can be produced by the body from cholesterol under the influence of UV-B radiation. In Central Europe, this is best done in the summer months. In the darker months of the year, it is important to supplement vitamin D with food, but there are only a few natural sources of vitamin D in our food and even fewer that are suitable for a vegan diet. A precursor of vitamin D, ergosterol, is contained in morels, porcini mushrooms, mushrooms, chanterelles and avocados, for example.

Vitamin D makes a valuable contribution to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium, as well as to a normal calcium level in the blood. It is also needed to maintain normal muscle function and to maintain normal bones and teeth. Furthermore, vitamin D has a function in cell division and contributes to the normal function of the immune system.

Vitamin D3 is often obtained from lanolin, the wool fat of sheep. Our 100% vegan raw material comes from a special algae that has been cultivated in Europe for decades. The cultivation site is inspired by the ocean, but there are no points of contact, which ensures complete control over its quality and purity.

Vitamin D3 10,000 I.U. VEGAN has very good stability data and therefore a long shelf life (36 months) thanks to patented microencapsulation. The 100% carrageenan-free capsule shell consists of a non-enteric cellulose derivative (HPMC).
