Selenium is an essential trace element that is important for numerous bodily functions. It contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, to the normal function of the immune system and to normal thyroid function. It also supports the formation of sperm and the maintenance of normal hair and nails. As Central Europe is considered a selenium-deficient region, targeted supplementation can be important to cover the requirement.

In Selenium Forte we use rapidly absorbable and bioavailable selenium in the form of inorganic sodium selenite. Compared to the organic selenium compound selenomethionine, sodium selenite is available to the body more quickly and is therefore ideal for increasing selenium levels in the short term.

In this formulation, selenium is combined with the branded raw material Ester-C® - a high-quality source of vitamin C that is known for its constant supply, pH neutrality and high bioavailability. Like selenium, vitamin C makes an important contribution to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and to the normal function of the immune system.
