Seewald Ortho Alpha Lipoic Acid Forte Capsules are a dietary supplement containing alpha lipoic acid. In its function as a coenzyme, alpha-lipoic acid, which occurs naturally in the cells, supports the work of enzymes to enable biochemical reactions in the body. It can be absorbed particularly well in its R form.

(R)-Alpha-lipoic acid is a sulphur-containing fatty acid that is considered a vitamin-like substance or vitaminoid. This compound is found in the cells of humans, animals and plants. One of its main functions is to act as a coenzyme, helping enzymes to carry out biochemical reactions in the body. Coenzymes are essential to increase the efficiency of enzymes in their many metabolic tasks.

• 1 capsule per day 2 hours after a meal.
• Special note: Alpha-lipoic acid should preferably be taken on an empty stomach, as its absorption can be impaired by other foods. It should also not be taken together with other minerals or trace elements (such as copper, iron, zinc, selenium or manganese), but 1 - 2 hours later, as otherwise neither can be properly absorbed
