SanDitan® Horn Pads are the ideal solution for hoof and claw problems in horses and cattle. The special non-woven fabric, treated with Al Co Cid Liquid, effectively disinfects and promotes rapid healing of holes, cracks and fissures.
Cracks in the horn, holes caused by embedded stones and splinters on the supporting wall
lead to infections of the hooves (triggering ‘Hollow Wall Syndrome’) as well as
the claws, and impair mobility. White Line Disease, putrefactive bacteria
in holes and cracks, or thrush can destroy the horn and its structural integrity
and must be reliably treated. These defects are
not diseases in the medical sense, but rather a hygiene-related problem affecting
horn growth.
In the case of hoof and claw problems, it is necessary, on the one hand, to curb the breakdown of the horn caused by
putrefactive bacteria and, on the other hand, to promote the rapid growth of healthy
horn.
Functions
SanDitan® Horn Pads are used to treat holes, cracks, fissures and the frog area, and are a special non-woven fabric impregnated with Al Co Cid Liquid.
- Deodorising, to eliminate fungi, bacteria, including putrefactive pathogens
- Nourishing, to support the regeneration process
- Easy to use
- Reliable aid
- Indispensable for treating thrush; to be pressed into cracks and fissures
- To restore and safeguard the physiological functions of the horn
The oily soaking solution does not dry out, penetrates cracks and crevices and
thus ensures, over the long term, that the pathogens that have penetrated the affected areas of the hoof
are reliably destroyed.

Application
- SanDitan® Horn Pads can also be used under the horseshoe or in a hoof/claw boot . They are breathable, allowing oxygen to reach the affected areas unhindered. The oily soaking solution prevents the surrounding hoof areas from becoming brittle. On contact with water, it acts as a moisture repellent.
- Remove the impregnated fleece from the sealed pack and press it into the affected areas, holes and cracks. If necessary, pieces of fleece can be cut to size with scissors.
