Active ingredients

PROTECTIVE EFFECT

• Propolis is a gum-like substance produced by bees through the enzymatic processing of plant materials; it contains flavonoids, resins and essential oils. Due to its cleansing and antimicrobial effects, it has been used since ancient times as a remedy and to support the function of the upper respiratory tract.
• Echinacea is a plant from the Asteraceae family (known as Compositae in English). It contains a wealth of active ingredients, which are said to possess antiviral, antibacterial and immunostimulant properties. Thanks to these properties, it protects the upper respiratory tract from infections.

Aloe Thanks to its many active ingredients, aloe vera has antiseptic and germicidal properties. It stimulates the immune system, promotes healing, inhibits inflammation and thus alleviates discomfort in the nose and throat.

BENEFICIAL EFFECTS

• Field rocket Field rocketis also known as ‘singers’ herb’ because it was used in ancient times by singers and orators to strengthen the vocal cords. Thanks to the sulphur-containing compounds it contains, it has beneficial properties for the health of the mucous membranes throughout the respiratory tract, particularly the upper respiratory tract. It alleviates dryness and thus soothes most symptoms, such as loss of voice and hoarseness.
• Perilla Perilla is a genus of plants native to China, where it is used in traditional medicine. The extract from its seeds is rich in polyphenols, essential oils and many polyunsaturated fatty acids, particularly α-linolenic acid (ALA). It has antioxidant properties, reduces allergic inflammation and inhibits the formation of IgE antibodies and the pro-inflammatory molecule TNF-α.

COUGH-SUPPRESSING EFFECT

• Liquorice root Liquorice is a genus of plant belonging to the legume family, the roots of which are used. Its main active ingredient is glycyrrhizin, a triterpenoid saponin glycoside, which contains other active compounds such as saponins, flavonoids, coumarins and phytosterols. These substances have cough-suppressing and anti-inflammatory effects.
• Essential oil from green aniseed and peppermint The essential oil of greenaniseedand thatof peppermint, which consists mainly of menthol and menthone, help to loosen phlegm and have a cough-suppressing effect.
