The Rosidal® sys short-stretch compression system offers a perfectly harmonised combination of high-quality components. The ready-to-use set enables effective compression therapy for chronic venous insufficiency.

Compression with a system

The time-consuming assembly of individual components slows down efficiency. This is why the Rosidal sys compression system with its well-matched components of high, long-lasting quality is recommended. The system, which is conveniently combined in one set, contains all the medical components required for effective compression therapy. The short-stretch compression system enables effective treatment of venous leg ulcers. The low flexibility of the tissue (stiffness) leads to rapid decongestion of the affected extremity. Rosidal sys remains on the leg day and night during the acute phase - for up to seven days. The product is characterised by its particularly skin-friendly ingredients and the wound dressing, for example from our Suprasorb range, can be added according to the phase so that the wound is optimally treated. Dressings can be changed individually for each patient

Therapeutic safety in a set

The Rosidal sys set is ready to use and is particularly effective and cost-effective in long-term therapy. This is because the reusability of padding and compression bandages results in a significant cost advantage compared to disposable products. Both the Rosidal soft padding bandage and the Rosidal K short-stretch bandage can be washed up to 50 times. Furthermore, the system solution saves time during application and also ensures a high level of therapeutic safety. The time-consuming administration of individual products is also eliminated.

Application

General information:

  • For reuse on a single patient.
  • The compression bandage can remain on the leg for up to 7 days, depending on the wound status and dressing change of the wound dressing.
  • The wrapping technique should be agreed with the attending physician.
  • Always apply Rosidal® K under full tension (maximum stretch).
  • It is recommended to apply the dressing in the morning before getting up or after prolonged elevation of the leg and to encourage the patient to walk afterwards.
  • The bandage width should correspond to the diameter of the body part to be bandaged.
  • The bandage must be applied with tension around the leg so that the pressure of the bandage decreases from the foot to the knee and, if necessary, to the gluteal fold.

Preparation:

  • The usual diagnostic examinations for vascular status must be carried outbefore the bandage is applied .
  • Before applying the bandage, clean/debride an existing wound and cover it with a wound dressing according to the wound status.

Application instructions:

  • Training in correct application by healthcare professionals is required for untrained users.
  • The rolled-up part of the bandage (bandage head) points outwards. The head of the bandage must be kept close to the leg.
  • To maximise joint movement, it is recommended that the bandage is applied to the foot at a right angle (90°).
  • Use plaster strips to secure the bandage. Do not use bandage clips to secure the bandage, as these can cause injury.

Warnings and precautions:

  1. Improper bandaging can result in skin necrosis and nerve pressure damage.
  2. A slight blue colouration of the toes is normal, this must disappear as soon as the patient begins to walk.
  3. If the symptoms (pain and blue discolouration) do not disappear, the bandage must be removed and reapplied with less compression.
  4. If the pain increases significantly while wearing the bandage, the patient must contact a doctor.
  5. Use with an ankle-brachial index (ABPI) greater than 0.8 or with an ABPI of 0.5 - 0.8 - only under medical supervision.
  6. For diabetes with advanced microangiopathy - use only under medical supervision.
