Retaron® Macula Omega 3 capsules contain the omega-3 fatty acid DHA and zinc. These ingredients make an important contribution to maintaining normal vision, especially in the case of age-related changes.

Retaron® Macula Omega 3 is a food supplement containing, among other things, the mineral zinc and the omega-3 fatty acid DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). Zinc and DHA contribute to the maintenance of normal vision. The product also contains the mineral selenium, the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin, vitamins C and E and the essential omega-3 fatty acid EPA. The minerals selenium and zinc as well as vitamins E and C help to protect the cells against oxidative stress.

Processes that are the result of an increased presence of free radicals play a role in the ageing of the eyes. Free radicals are highly reactive compounds that occur particularly frequently as a result of stress, increased alcohol consumption, smoking, strong UV radiation, environmental pollution and an unbalanced diet. What are the properties of the ingredients in Retaron® Macula Omega 3?

• Lutein and zeaxanthin occur naturally as pigments in the retina.
• The minerals zinc and selenium as well as vitamins C and E help to protect the cells from oxidative stress.
• The essential, long-chain, polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) are also known as components of fish oil.
• Zinc and DHA are specially formulated to support the eye's natural protective mechanisms against environmental and ageing influences. Zinc and DHA contribute to the maintenance of normal vision.

The favourable contribution of DHA to the maintenance of normal vision is achieved with a dose of 250 mg daily, the recommended daily dose for the product of 1 capsule.

Directions for use

• Adults: Take 1 capsule daily, preferably with a meal and cold liquid. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. We do not recommend taking any other dietary supplements containing zinc. Regular and prolonged intake is recommended.
