What is creatine?

Creatine is a naturally occurring compound produced from the amino acids arginine, glycine and methionine, mainly in the liver, kidneys and pancreas. • Adults: Stir 2 measuring spoons (equivalent to 4 g of creatine monohydrate) into 200 ml of water daily and drink.
• Recommended intake: Creatine can be taken at any time of day – whether before or after training.
• Weight gain from creatine – a brief explanation: At the start of creatine supplementation, a weight gain of around 0.5 to 2 kilograms is often observed. This effect has a physiological explanation.
• Notes: The positive effects mentioned above are already evident with a daily intake of 3 g of creatine. The positive effects are realised with a daily intake of 3 g of creatine in combination with strength training, where the workload can be increased over time and which should be carried out at least three times a week for several weeks at an intensity of at least 65% to 75% of the 1-repetitionmaximum.
