Pro-ophta® eye swabs are sterile swabs specially developed for ophthalmological procedures. With their high absorbency and gentle material properties, they ensure precise and safe eye surgery.
Specially developed for ophthalmic surgery, the Pro-ophta swabs impress as surgical swabs with their good capillary action and high suction speed. Without sacrificing the necessary strength, the rods have a high absorbency. Pro-ophta rods are cut at an angle at the ends. Their material makes them gentle on tissue: they are made of non-woven viscose fabric and have an absorbent cellulose coating. The use of Pro-ophta rods has proved particularly successful in eyelid surgery (entropion and ectropion) and in eye muscle surgery for strabismus.
Due to their properties, Pro-ophta rods are successfully used in microsurgery.
